《菩提道次第广论》The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment
The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment is a principal text of Mahayana Buddhism written by Master Tsong-kha-pa. It comprises the content of Tripitaka (the three baskets) and condenses the essence of all Buddha’s teachings with the aim of guiding Buddhist disciples step by step on the path towards buddhahood. The treatise encapsulates the complete teachings of Buddha into two schools passed down by two Bodhisattvas, namely Nāgārjuna who led the Mādhyamika school, and Asaṅga who led the Yogachara school. The combined heritage of both schools thus led sentient beings to solving all problems and accomplishing all merits, until arriving at the highest point of life——Buddhahood.
Not only that the content presented in this treatise complete and truthful, it is also presented clearly and systematically the three stages of path in which a practitioner should follow, alike attending classes from primary school to secondary school to university. Albeit the level of comprehension and intelligence, one can always find his step of learning here, and thus progressively open up the gem of Buddhist wisdom.
In year 1931, Venerable Fa-zun translated the Tibetan text into traditional Chinese. In order to benefit a larger community of simplified Chinese users particularly in Malaysia and Singapore, we are now planning to consolidate and reprint a simplified version. In our first printing, we will be raising funds for 1500 copies of the book. Your support and contribution is greatly appreciated, as the greater the circulation of dharma materials, the more sentient beings would be able to share the joy of the enlightenment path.
This donation will be solely used for the printing and circulating of The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Should there be any remaining balance, it will be transferred to the [Dharma Publishing Fund] and used on other dharma materials.
